POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The objective of this position is to provide overall leadership, management and technical expertise in all areas of the processing function including the optimization of the Life of Mine (LOM) plan, to ensure timely and cost effective processing of mined ore in accordance with Bulyanhulu Gold Mine Ltd (BGML) business plan, environmental and safety targets and other related standards. This includes ensuring the LOM reserve are metallurgical defined, and the process plant is prepared to process tones and grade as defined in the LOM plan. Ensure the annual process plant budget is achieved. The successful candidate for this position is expected to align to the Barrick DNA and drive a change within the team and the business.

Work Schedule: Rotation Status (42 Days On: 21 Days Off)

KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Provide leadership necessary to ensure that employees and contractors adhere to safety and environmental standards as per Tanzanian legislation and company policy.
· Ensure annual process plant budget is achieved.
· Ensure the metal accounting and reconciliation process is robust, well documented and the process is followed to ensure SOX compliance.
· Identify Capital Projects which can add value to the business and then support the implementation of such projects to ensure successful improvements.
· Ensure Cyanide Code Compliance standards are maintained within operation.
· Ensure the Tailings dam is operated as per the engineered and approved design to minimize environmental risks.
· Ensure effective security standards and systems are in place to minimize risk of product loss within the Process Plant. This includes creating high security awareness and ensuring any security breaches are dealt in accordance to the law.
· Manage bullion shipment process to ensure effective systems and controls are in place to minimize security risks, all legal requirements are followed and customers are fully informed of the production and shipping status.
· Manage concentrate shipping process to ensure effective systems and controls are in place to minimize security risks, all legal requirements are followed and customers are fully informed of the production and shipping status.
· Create a rule of cost awareness and fiscal responsibility and support that culture to achieve cost reductions. This includes a monthly review of costs. Ensure the annual budgeted cost is managed.
· Ensure appropriate Process Plant Structure is in place to ensure the plant is operated at the required throughput and performance.
· Ensure all employees have a defined job description which they have read and understand and they have a clear understanding what is expected of them to be considered successful in their position.
· Ensure quality personnel are recruited in timely manner to fill any vacancies within the organizational structure.
· Demonstrate leadership to the team as an exemplary employee who is professional, stable, positive, demonstrate teamwork, respect each other and work as a team towards achieving our mission (One Team, One Mission).
· Communicate Process Plant objectives and performance against objectives on regular basis. Ensure the full team is aligned on the priority of these objectives.
· Complete annual LOM budgets.
· Complete all other tasks as assigned by the Mine General Manager
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
· Certificate in Materials Management or Equivalent Tertiary qualification in Technical fields
· Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering.
· Advanced management qualifications will be added advantage.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
§ Minimum of 8 years sound experience in Process Plant Operations
§ Minimum of 5 years sound experience at a Process Manager level
§ Experience in Sulphide flotation
§ Experience in Gold Carbon In Leach
