Duties

Manages Post's Work Life Wellness program. Assist with the identification of work life wellness priorities; plan and implement post specific interventions; facilitates the Work Life Wellness Committee to support identified wellness goals, evaluate the effectiveness of work life wellness programs; and report best practices and other program metrics to the Work Life Wellness Leadership Council Working Group. Incorporate the principles of effective work life wellness programs into a sustainable program at post. 


1. Management of Post's Work-Life Wellness Program (45% )
- Impliments OPM's Well Check survey to identify wellness priorities.
-Facilitate post's Work Life Wellness Committee to develop an action plan to address priorities identified in the Well Check survey.
- Design and implement programs for both individual and community wellness using a broad definition of wellness to create and maintain a healthy, safe and happy workforce, to include healthy work habits, greening of our embassy community, ergonomics, encouraging use of annual leave, tracking work goals and reporting to improve morale, ridesharing, etc.
- Draft management and human resources policies that influence and improve wellness in the mission (i.e., flexible working hours, performance management, etc.). -Utilize other DOS support programs such as Employee Consultation Services, Emergency Visitation Travel, Eldercare, Information Quest as well as other relevant programs to maximize wellness resources at post.
- Train individuals and teams on wellness topics.
- Research and report on wellness ideas that could be used in the Mission.
- Liaise with other missions and the local community to establish and participate in larger wellness initiatives.
- Manage available time and resources to meet the needs and interest of post.


2. Evaluate needs and resources (15%)
- Facilitate the data call for the Office of Personnel's (OPM) Wellcheck Worksite Wellness assessment of evidence based practices.
- Work with the RSO to address specific safety concerns on and off embassy grounds to identify potential safe and effective areas to provide physical activity.
- Identify indoor and or outdoor space for specific wellness programs such as yoga, meditation, Zumba, etc.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of wellness programs before and after implementation.
-Analyzes data to produce reports in support of programming and/or funding.


3. Health and Medical Wellness Implementation (35%)
-Manage posts gym facility and equipment. Coordinate regular training on proper use of equipment.
-Develop working relationships with outside gyms and activity sponsors
- Assist eligible program participants with individual behavior change strategies related to wellness through a standardized coaching model. Work with the Health Unit personnel to provide health and physical activity programming opportunities. Work with the commissary and cafeteria to ensure nutritious food items are available to post personnel.
- Work with the RMOP to present seminars and speaker programs specifically designed to address the needs of that particular post. Special emphasis would be on stress reduction, resiliency, coping mechanisms (healthy and unhealthy behaviors), conflict resolution in the workplace, interpersonal relationships, social networking, and negative effects of isolation.
- The incumbent may present seminars, classes, newsletter information, health fairs, walking programs, exercise classes, stress reduction and resilience programs, etc.


4. Performs other duties as assigned (5%)


Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE:  A minimum of two years of project management, strategic planning or program evaluation is required. 

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts, General Studies, Health Studies, Social Work, Human Resources or related field is required.

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE:  Level III (good working knowledge) in English is required.  (This may be tested)
