Higher Education Students Loan Board (HESLB) on 11th/11/2020 released first batch students names list who have qualified for loans allocations allocation with total amount of TZS 150.03 billion for the academic year 2020/2021 expected to commence from next week.
During announcement of the list, HESLB Executive Director Mr. Abdul-Razaq Badru said that among 47,305 students who have been allocated loans, 26964 students are males (57.37%) and 20341 students are females (42.63%).
Also, Badru said HESLB has started to send loans of students admitted at various Universities while full HESLB allocation details will be obtained through their online accounts that was used during HESLB loan application known as SIPA (Student’s Individual Permanent Account) and they have to start getting prepared for registration at their respective admission Universities.
"The Government has already given us the money and we have started to send to the Universities...our aim is to make sure all qualified students find it at the Univerties where they will be registered and recieve so as to fulfill their dreams" said Badru during conference held at HESLB offices in Dar es salaam.
The date for second batch list release.
Badru said the second batch list will be released on Saturday November 14, 2020 after completion of the ongoing applications selection thus applicants have to visit their SIPA accounts to check their HESLB loan allocation status.
"These first year students have been allocated loans because they have qualifications like demand, correctly applied and have single admission. We complete the selection of other applications and the second batch list will be released in the next two days, that is Saturday, November 14 " said Badru.

Also, the HESLB executive director said that all loans beneficiaries continuing students at various Universities in the country who are about 44,629 have been allocated loans of total amount TZS 155.06 billion.
"These students 44,629 have been allocated loans after HESLB received examinations results which confirm that the student has passed to continue with studies in the next academic year," said Mr. Badru and also explained that HESLB continue to receive the examinations results for students who were loans beneficiaries in the previous academic year then will be allocated loans.
TZS 464 billion have been allocated for higher education 2020/2021 loans.
During the conference, Mr. Badru said the Government has allocated TZS 464 billion for loans of 145,000 students. Among them 54,000 students will be first year and 91,000 are loans beneficiaries continuing students who have passed their annual examinations.
NB: HESLB request loans applicants to remain calm during the ongoing process of loans allocation for the next qualified students.
