to customs clearance
• Ensure all documents required for declaration are in order for
lodgment to customs TANCIS platform
• Ensure declaration is correctly done and in time upon receipt of all
clearing documents from the client.
• Ensure assessment is obtained timely.
• Ensure customs queries if any are replied in time for current
shipments on clearance and for those on customs audit queries
basically by coordinating with the clients.
• Ensure photocopies of clearing documents are enough for Customs
and properly filed.
• Ensure all documents required by customs are properly attached
before sent to Customs
• Maintain excellent relationship with customs to make sure that our
documents are received and processed in time.
• Should have an experience lodging import-export document to GCLA
online application platform.
•Should have an experience lodging import-export document to TMDA
online application platform.
• should ensure the clearing of goods from the Customs within the
shortest possible time.
• To ensure that Annual Customs Duty Exemption is obtained and
applied for all applicable items
• Oversee the overall assignments of the Sea freight Customs Clearance
Officers.
•Should have knowledge in a bond cancellation for transit goods To
EAC & SADC countries.
• Follow up of customs duty refund claims from Customs authorities.
• Should have a knowledge to import and export goods to ZANZIBAR.
• She or He will be sending a Daily import and Export Report to all the
client which we are handling they are consignment must Cc to
Managing Director & all communication communicating to client
regarding consignment must be copied to managing director (Cc)
• Track and update Vessel Information for all Imports / Transit
consignments.
• To coordinate with Import Export officers & Port clerk to Follow up
Invoice and Release / Delivery Order from shipping lines.
• To coordinate with Import Export officers & Port clerk Follow up
Statutory Permits e.g. TBS,TAEC , GCLA Chemical Permit, TMDI,
Tanzania Ministry of Agriculture etc
• To coordinate with Import Export officers & Port clerk to Compile
documents/file for physical verification of cargo at port or ICDs
• To coordinate with Import Export officers & Port clerk to Arrange and
Supervise verification with Customs
• To coordinate with Import Export officers & Port clerk to Follow up
for Customs Release and Port or ICDs Charges
• To coordinate with Import Export officers & Port clerk to Process
Transit Documents and Gate Pass to enter and exit trucks into and out
of port or ICDs.
• Should ensure the clearing of goods from the Customs within the
shortest possible time.
• Sending a Daily import and Export Report to all the clients which we
are handling they are imports and export Goods.
• To follow up Release and Delivery of consignments via Dar es Salaam
Port and ICDs.
Skills and Qualifications Required
• Experience: 3 to 5 years
• Education Level: Certificate or Diploma
• He or She must possess have East African Customs Clearing and
Freight Forwarding Practicing Certificate,
Diploma in Customs and Tax Management, Diploma / Diploma in
Clearing and Forwarding.
• He or She Must know all the clearance procedures (Import Export)
and Requirement in terms of Automotive Product and Parts, Dry Food
and Frozen Food Product, Non Food Product, Factories Machines and
Normal Machines + Parts, House Hold Product, Normal Chemical and
Hazardous Chemical, Medicine and Medical Devices, Tools and
Hardwares Construction Material, Bulk Cloth, Timber and Wood craft,
Seeds and Fertilizer, Minerals, Non-Alcohol Liquid Drinks and Alcohol
Liquid Drinks, Raw Material.
• He or she must have a strong knowledge how to handle Transit
Goods, interms of all requirement and procedures.
• He or She must have a knowledge how to draft a manually
assessment according to the nature of goods imported or exported,
how to prepare import cost full import charges of goods using the
proforma invoice according to the nature of good intended to be
imported or exported.
• He or she must know all the tariff book in terms of all Hs code
according to the nature of the Goods intended to be imported and
exported
