Project Coordinator

Job Title: Project Coordinator 

Locations: Dar Es Salaam

Reports to: Country Manager 

Job Summary: 

We are looking for a motivated and bright individual to join the Head Office team in Dar Es Salaam as Project Coordinator. This is an important and strategic role which reports directly to the Country Manager: In this role your core responsibility is to successfully manage the design, implementation and execution of both internal and external projects. We’re looking for someone to lead in this role and who is happy to roll up their sleeves and work closely with the team and our partners and customers alike to make things happen. You’ll be responsible for coordinating processes, partnerships and people to drive project deliverables within set timeframes and budgets.

Responsibilities & Duties:

The core responsibility includes overseeing all aspects of delivering on the project results, strategy oversight, implementation, team management, budget management and reports for all ongoing projects;

Key responsibilities:

1. Ensure all projects stay on track including two existing key projects;
2. DFID grant funded project bringing mobile (smartphone) education to our customers and
3. Commercial Partnership project with a Mobile Network Operator to sell and distribute Trend Products
4. Work with Country Manager, Project Manager (Trend Energy Group) to determine the project strategy, goals, team, and implementation plan 
5. Gain deep understanding of Trend Solar’s value proposition and value creation for each project and requisite impact on the livelihood of the customer.
6. Work directly with field teams and customers to conduct research, test new products and provide feedback to the company for action.
7. Build strategic partnerships with companies and organizations that have similar objectives and serve the same market segment with Trend Solar with the goal of building complimentary solutions that will enable market expansion and grow the business. 
8. Work with Country Manager to deliver change to existing processes, systems and tools by engaging users and becoming the link between developers and users. 
9. Oversee an entire multi-functional team to implement projects which can include distribution partnership officers, field sales teams, R & D partner firms, MNOs etc.
10. Oversight of project data collection and development of regular progress reports for each ongoing project.

 

Requirements:

• Strong communication skills 
• Experience managing multiple projects and achieving intended deliverables
• Excellent team and project management skills, being able to achieve results of a project within budget manage to results
• Ability to develop strategic plans  and processes to improve effectiveness of team
• Good computer skills with strong experience using G suite and basic understanding of project management software and ERP Systems.
• Desired:
• 3 - 5 years proven experience in a relevant role
• Ability to demonstrate experience delivering operational excellence 
• Strong command of both languages (spoken & written) is essential for this role.
• Experience of working with grant funded projects a bonus

Compensations structure: Basic Salary & Performance Bonus

Probation: 3 months (subject to extension for up to six months)

Start Date: As soon as possible
