The University of Dar es Salaam invites applications for admission from qualified candidates into its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for the 2019/2020 Academic Year.
In this academic year, the University will offer a total 88 undergraduate programmes and more than 189 Postgraduate Programmes leading to the award of certificates, diplomas, bachelor degrees, postgraduate diplomas, masters and PhD.

All requisite information and guidelines to take the applicant through the application stages are provided from the respective Instructions tab. ie. UNDERGRADUATE tab for those applying for Certificates, diplomas and bachelor degrees and POSTGRADUATE tab for those applying for postgraduate-diplomas, masters and PhD .
Applicants are reminded to register their names as they appear in Ordinary Certificate of Secondary Education (CSE) and Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education (ACSE) including index numbers where prompted.
Undergraduate applicants with foreign certificates are required to first present their certificates to the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) for verification at: www.necta.go.tz.. NECTA will issue them letters showing equivalent grades, copies of which should also be uploaded together with other certificates. Equivalent applicants are advised to obtain a special unique number from National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) for verification and applying in the system at: www.nacte.go.tz.
Postgraduate applicants with Foreign Certificates should have their certificates verified by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) at: http://faas.tcu.go.tz/login.php upon receipt of admission letter and prior joining the University of Dar es Salaam for studies.

STAGE 1: REGISTRATION FOR AN ADMISSION ACCOUNT:
Register for an account in our system by clicking REGISTRATION button at the POSTGRADUATE tab
Note: In order to register for an account in the admission system you will need to provide the following details:
- First name
- Surname
- Email Address
- Mobile Telephone Number
- To finalize registration you will need to put in a password of your choice that you will use whenever you wish to log into the admission system.
- And lastly fill in the characters captcha as will be shown in the page, i.e. Captcha then click register button at the bottom to register for an account.
If you are successfully registered, then the system will send you an email. Please log into your email account and use the link sent into your email to activate your admission account.
- Note: at this stage. Your username is: your email address
STAGE 2: MAKE APPLICATION:
- When you are successfully logged into your account you will find notification that your account is successfully activated (please open the notification)
- Click at My Application button to start application
- You will be presented with four[4] steps to finish the application

Step 2: APPLICATION FEE PAYMENT
- Non-refundable Application Fee is :
- Local Students: TZS. 50,000.00 (Fifty Thousand only)
- Foreign Students USD. 50.00 (Fifty US Dollar only)
- Use the reference number shown to pay application fee by using mobile money services ie. Mpesa, Tigo Pesa, Airtel Money for Local Students. Foreign Students application fee is payable using the SWIFT code: NLCBTZTX through A/C Number: 012105005554, University of Dar es Salaam, NBC Bank, Samora Branch.

Step 3: ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION
- Select College/School
- Then select Programme that you wish to apply
- Then select Programme category
- Then select Delivery Mode
- Then select Sponsorship Type
- Then tick in the appropriate box on ‘How did you find out about the Postgraduate Programmes at the University of Dar es salaam?’
Step 4: EMPLOYMENT RECORDS
- Click ‘Add’ button to complete employment records
Step 5: QUALIFICATION
Click ‘add your academic records’ button to fill in the appropriate academic records
Step 6: REFEREES
- Click ‘add referees’ button to fill information of the two (2) referees required
- Then select ‘create’
Step 7: DOCUMENTS
- Click ‘upload attachments’ button to select and upload appropriate documents

Step 3: ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION
1. For Direct Entry applicants with both form IV and VI results from NECTA Add index number and year and choose level
Example:
Index no: S0110/0092/2014 level O-LEVEL
Index no: S0110/0088/2017 level A-LEVEL
Then click add sitting
if you hltiple sittings then you can add all sittings that you wish to be considered in the selection process.
2. For Equivalent applicants with form IV results from NECTA
Add index number and year and choose level
Then upload your Diploma certificates in the system in PDF format

3. For applicants with foreign certificates, you will need to put results in the system

Step 4: PROGRAMME CHOICES
Choose from the List of available Programmes and the application choice number.
Note: choose the programmes in the selected List and if you put choice 1, means that is your first choice, the second is your second choice…etc.
