Airtel Tanzania PLC is looking for a suitable candidate for the Network Deployment Manager Position .The Network Deployment Manager will be responsible to drive the infrastructure design, site implementation (passive and active) and infrastructure maintenance support. Driving sites roll out in conjunction with the vendors and contractors to achieve Network Coverage, coverage improvement, Quality leadership at lower Capital investment and OPEX.
Key deliverables;
1.Drive new network deployment and expansion end to end. ;
- Develop short and long term network deployment strategy with the objective of improving Capex Productivity and execution speed
- Track project scopes, milestones and deliverables and anticipate possible deviations and prepare mitigation plans.
- Track and Ensure deployment plan governance for both active and passive infrastructures.
- Leverage scale for efficiency and cost reduction and improve asset management
- Drive and plan implementation of cost conscious Operation.
- Cost initiatives – ensure implementation of initiatives aimed at energy conservation and return on investment
- Ensure timely and correct Network Deployment by monitoring implementation of all network segment projects.
- Ensure all Pre-Construction Surveys, Construction works, Inspections and Final Acceptance are timely carried out and as per Airtel Technical Specifications.
2.Prevent time and cost overruns;
- Track equipment delivery and ensure there is high execution excellence and technical capacity by partners
- Improved roll out speeds with cost optimization by preventing cost & time overruns by tracking execution plan and budget versus market price.
3.Network Infrastructure Engineering;
- Review and keep updated technical Specifications for both passive and active infrastructures.
- Review all Works BOQ’s for accuracy and compliancy before they are issued for quotation.
- Assemble and validate all passive and active infrastructure Work Quotations against BOQ’s issued and placement of Purchase Order to the awarded suppliers.
- Provide Accurate Technical Information to all parties appointed to carry out Research and Development projects.
- Ensure all construction projects and equipment purchased are carried out as per country and environmental regulations.
- Co-ordinate with and support the MS partner for supervvision of installation and commissioning of all Power equipments, HVAC, Fire systems and other Civil works performed on all critical nodes.
- Inspect, from time to time, network facilities to ensure they are properly maintained by the MS partner
- Monitor Network assets and spares management activities performed by the MS partner
4.Key partner and stakeholder management
- Create good relationships with key stakeholders including governmental and non-governmental agencies, internal business leaders, strategic outsourced partners, contractors, sub-contractors, technology partners etc.
- Review partner performance to ensure on-time and accurate delivery
- Ensure SLA adherence by partners
- Ensure there is high level of Regulatory and Local Authority compliances by applications and execution of regulatory norms
- Establish and enhance relationship with roll out partners and suppliers and contractors by consistent tracking, meetings and feedback from Partner.
5.Ensure capability development of the team and improved engagement
- Build team capabilities through coaching and development Programme
- Review subordinate performance and recommend appropriate rewards and recognition
6.Monitor and ensure there is capex and operation efficiency.
- Increase efficiency and profitability of the network by controlling CAPEX
- Formulating cost saving initiative plans
Qualifications and Experience;
- Bachelor of degree in Engineering (electrical, telecommunication, communication, electronics, or related fields)
- Sound knowledge on Project Management
- At least 7 years’ experience in Telecom Industry as projects/deployment manager handling deployment (new sites rollouts, expansions/upgrades/modernizations) to offer 2G/3G/4G services with various vendors including Huawei/Ericsson/Nokia/ZTE.
- Minimum 3 years’ management experience in network Performance, transmission planning, maintenance and deployment
